I always forget about these weird days between Christmas and New Year. In my mind the days go: Christmas Eve, Christmas, Boxing Day, New Years Day. In actual fact, this time in the middle is generally spend being lazy, 'using up' leftovers, and waiting for life to get back to normal.
This smoothie was an attempt to negate some of the unhealthiness of the last few days, and to boost my energy for a trip to the gym. What it actually ended up doing was suppling me with energy to hang out at home in jogging bottoms baking mini doughnuts (don't judge - after all, it is christmas). Regardless of your planned activities in a day, adding in this smoothie will always be a good idea. Like most smoothies, this 'recipe' couldn't be simpler simple: banana, oats, medjool dates, cinnamon and honey are all blended together with milk - this is especially good with almond milk, and has the added bonus of being vegan - and there you have it.

Date, Oat and Banana Smoothie
Makes 1 generous serving
6 medjool dates
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp honey
Blend all ingredients together in a blender or smoothie maker. You may need to add more milk, depending on the consistency of the smoothie. Serve and enjoy!
